Developed and directed the HR program for this new medium security correctional facility that opened in 1983, with over 350 employees. Directed all HR activities including but not limited to recruitment and selection, classification and pay, benefits, performance, training and discipline.

Dept of Corrections - Adult Probation & Parol, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Human Resources Manager 

Estabilshed and directed a comprehensive HR program for 20 statewide probation and parole offices and 700 employees, including recruitment and selection, classification and pay, benefits, performance, training, discipline and more.  

12/1996 – 05/1999

Capital Area Human Services District, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Human Resources Director 

Directed a comprehensive HR program for a quasi-state agency with 170 employees, including recruitment and selection, classification and pay, benefits, performance, training, discipline and safety. 

05/1999 – 04/2008

Louisiana Department of Education, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Human Resources Director 

Directed a comprehensive human resources program for over 800 employees, including recruitment, selection, classification and pay, benefits, performance, training, and discipline. Established new HR Office for the post-hurricane Recovery School District in New Orleans, in 2006.

Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Personnel Technician 

Merge, purge and scan inactive employee personnel files to insure compliance with state records retention law and agency policy. Monitor employee Family and Medical Leave usage and investigate potential leave abuse.

Other

I have 25 + years human resources management experience. Along with working closely with administrators to employ and maintain an efficient agency workforce, it was my personal goal to continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance human resources programs and procedures. I have always been respected and admired by my administrators and peers for having a positiive attitude and working hard to provide excellent service.
