Dear Company Representative,
Attached is my application for the Senior Staff Editor position. At your convenience, I’d love the opportunity to sit down with you and discuss this position and what I can bring to The Global Journal. Please find my included resume, highlighting my qualifications and experience in writing.
In seven years of working for The Daily News, I have developed skills in the areas of research and communication that I look forward to bringing to this employment opportunity. I believe strongly in The Global Journal’s mission of bringing light to pertinent issues facing our world. Journalistic integrity is an important value that truly affects the shape each story takes. As a Staff Writer at The Daily News, I consistently pursued stories with a goal of presenting both sides of each story fully. When I moved up in the staff to an editorial position, I worked closely with each of my staff writers to ensure their non-biased coverage of stories. For my mentoring work, I received the Guiding Hand Award in 2010-11.
I would bring skills in objective reporting, editorial policy and journalistic values to the Senior Staff Editor position at The Global Journal. I look forward to opportunities in which I can engage readers through news. As an Editor at The Global Journal, I would encourage my staff to pursue this same level of connection with readers.
Thank you so much for your consideration of my application. I would gladly welcome the chance to discuss this position with you and share with you in person how my experience can benefit The Global Journal. You can reach me at Phone Number or Email. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
